The Software Support Specialist is a technical specialist for Trimble heavy and civil construction software and survey products. Responsibilities include; assisting sales force to promote sales; interpreting customer needs, generating 3-D models based on customer designs, and recommending software that will assist them with achieving their goals; training end users on the functions of the software; and providing telephone support and on-site troubleshooting with customers. Collaborate with sales team to understand customer needs and to promote sales activities, including recommending Trimble software and provide sales support with deal closings for Trimble software. Review customer designs/drawings and generate 3-D models to demonstrate benefits of Trimble software. Conduct demonstration using the generated models and respond to any customer inquiries. Follow up on leads from sales force. Contact existing and prospective customers of Trimble products to schedule demonstration of features and benefits of software. Provide one-on-one customer training sessions for customers, including those who will be using the software upon delivery of new product. Follow up with calls to customers to provide additional support as needed. Identify and prioritize training needs for key customer accounts and determine best delivery methods. Provide technical support to customer and in-house field service personnel on all Trimble survey and machine guidance and software products: telephone support and on-site troubleshooting as required. Provide training for Trimble Software and Survey products. Coordinate and facilitate multi-day Trimble Business Center training sessions at various office and customer locations. Develop and communicate training calendar/schedule in a timely manner. Build relationship and partner with customers to better understand their business needs and recommend additional products and services to fit their current and the future needs. Keep Sales team informed of product upgrades/enhancements. Drive collection of information that aids in development and improvement of products and services offerings. Achieve and maintain factory certification as a Trimble Certified Trainer for Business Center software. Record and maintain client contact information. Attend open houses, trade shows, conferences and other similar marketing events as requested.
Minimum of three years of progressive survey construction experience. Proficient with MS-Office applications preferred but not required. Requires thorough understanding of 3D Construction Software, Equipment and Processes to generate 3-D models, recommend, demonstrate and support equipment/technology. Must possess technical ability to explain and train 3D Construction Software, Equipment and Processes. Must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Must be able to read, analyze and interpret information provided by customers. Must be able to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and the customers. Must be able to make effective and persuasive presentations regarding 3D Construction Process’s to customers. Must be able to research alternative solutions to issues, keep abreast of new technologies and pursue training and development opportunities. Must have experience with 3D modeling, CAD/AutoCAD and Takeoff. Survey and construction experience using Trimble Site Positioning Systems and Machine Grade Control Systems preferred. Must be able to think quickly to handle customer situations to produce immediate results. Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands. Must be able to plan for additional resources based on priorities. Must have strong mechanical aptitude and skills. Must have valid driver’s license. Must be able to travel to customer sites and various marketing events.
