    SITECH Chesapeake, part of the Alban CAT family and authorized dealer for Trimble Heavy & Civil Construction products and services, is currently accepting applications for a Machine Control Field Technician, Entry Level.


    The Machine Control Field Technician, Entry Level is responsible for providing customer support through the performance of on-site installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing of on-machine control systems. Primary resource for installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, servicing and repairing on-machine guidance systems on various types of earthmoving and paving equipment in the field and customer sites.  Understand and follow guidelines and requirements for supporting and servicing product. Deliver quality technical assistance on time and ensure customer satisfaction.  Ensure the operational quality of the system by documenting post-installation tests.  Install system wiring harnesses and related sensors.  Modify/install hydraulic valves and hoses.  Configure machine guidance onboard software.  Perform systems updates and other software related tasks.  Provide high-level operator training to end-users. Document and report field activities.  Be proactive in creating process improvement. Drive revenue based upon performance of services for construction machine customers. Maintain and be accountable for inventory of all service parts and equipment by performing monthly inventory checks. Assist the Sitech Operations Team with tasks related to equipment shipping, receiving and handling.


    Minimum of one year of experience in service troubleshooting electronic/mechanical devices in a Construction or Agriculture environment and/or Certification of Graduation from a Technology Trade School in heavy equipment repair. Knowledge of construction job sites, surveying, or heavy equipment operation preferred. Knowledge of heavy equipment and hydraulic systems.  Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine control products. Experience with machine guidance and control systems preferred. Must have a good driving record and current valid driver’s license.
